A Message of Congratulations from the President of Afghanistan International Online University (AIOU) on the Occasion of Eid al-Adha

Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic holidays, celebrated annually by Muslims worldwide. This Eid symbolizes humanity's commitment and innate inclination towards God. It is a celebration where a person's non-divine desires are diminished in favor of their God-seeking motivation. As a result of this God-centric perspective, and in a deep and intimate connection between father and son, a son (Prophet Ismail) is brought by his father to the threshold of sacrifice to God. The son, too, declares his existence in complete submission to the command received by his father. Therefore, Eid al-Adha is a manifestation of submission and nearness to God, and a symbol of detachment from all worldly attachments; a day when human beings prove that there can be no selfish desires for what they give in the way of God.

Therefore, the President of Afghanistan International Online University cherishes this great Eid of servitude, submission, and surrender, and congratulates all Muslims, the Muslim people of Afghanistan, and all the esteemed members of the Afghanistan International Online University.
